The birth of Shanmugha College of Engineering in 1984 led to the genesis of what is now Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy. The University has achieved recognition at the National level for its academic prowess and extra-curricular activities. SASTRA not only facilitates holistic development of an individual but also hones one's body, mind and soul.
A plethora of extra-curriculars prove to be a platform for all the talent hidden inside young students. The intra-college sports fest, Fuera and cultural fest, Carpe Diem showcase the talent of the youth in various fields ranging from sporting events to Music, Art, Dance and Literary events.
The inter college technical, cultural and sports fests namely Daksh, Kuruksastra and Colosseum multiply this tenfold and exhibit the best of the best.Collaborations with various Universities and Industries give the students an opportunity to engage themselves in scholastic undertakings. This gives SASTRA opportunities for more accolades in both academic and extra-curricular spheres, which have only been growing in the past two decades and will continue to do so in the coming years.
Do everything right and you still might lose. Do everything wrong, and you might actually win. Luck always plays into the success of a probable outcome. The volte face nature of luck sees it ending both rewarding streaks and dry spells. The fervid anticipation of the outcome based on the odds of your choosing, is an exhilarating feeling which can be experienced by you first hand at Kuruksastra-13.
Kuruksastra-13 is the quintessential event to bet on your personality, your talents and skills, and come out with flying colours. An instinct, a hunch or just a tingly feeling is all it takes to spot the opening and score a winner.
This year, Kuruksastra is bigger and better. Ride on your good luck, pass on your bad luck and make the most of it. Experience the twists and turns that this rollercoaster event has in store for you. Are you feeling particularly lucky? Come on down to Sastra and just roll the dice.
